5 Ways To Prevent Winter Dryness

Have you ever felt your skin dry? Is it itchy or have you felt flaky patches on it at times? Ever wondered why does it happen so? Well, one of the main reasons for it is the drop in humidity level during winters, taking long and hot baths and not drinking adequate water. Use Body Lotion or Moisturizer

You can use body lotion to prevent your skin from drying as long as it doesn’t irritate your face. Modern medicine is more reactive rather than being proactive hence a little care is always better than cure.

No long hot Showers

Hot showers in winters may be one of the best feelings ever but they are much more harmful to our skin then we imagine. It flakes all the natural oils on our skin and in some cases can cause itching as well. Better not be there for long, will you?

Avoid Getting Dehydrated

As soon as the temperature drops the moisture level in our in our body also decreases due to which we stop drinking more water. Taking caffeinated drinks like coffee add more fuel to fire in this matter. Hence sticking to soups, herbal tea and water is a good way to help your skin from drying.

Use Yogurt

Yogurt is an excellent skin-hydrating agent. Also, its lactic acid content helps get rid of any germs or bacteria that may cause dryness or itchiness. Apply fresh yogurt on your hands, face, and legs and gently massaging it into your skin. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then take a bath or shower. 

Avoid Wet Gloves and Socks

Avoid wearing wet socks and gloves in winter even if you are in hurry and can't find another pair as it can irritate your skin and cause itching, cracking, sores.
